Kristen M. Rivers has a long affiliation with the Valley Women’s Club, first with the Environmental Committee for many years, and then keeping in touch as she provided educational opportunities for young people, and now with an unique new endeavor, The Artemis Project — an education and mentorship program that “envisions a world of healthy, empowered girls that grow up supported to become self-actualized women.”
The program is currently a collection of tested offerings for girls 8-18 that includes summer camps, day long intensive trainings, weekend retreats, after school programs and monthly teen meet up activities. There is also specialized curriculum for schools and clubs. It is very active here and programs are available throughout the Bay Area and Central Coast.
The VWC Board voted to support the Project with a donation and to help share information about it. You will find it a unique and intriguing way to involve young women in realizing their potential.
