Our goal in every program is to empower girls with emotional intelligence training, communication and problem solving tools, wise mentorship and loving, professional guidance as they transition from girls to women.
We offer healthy activities in a safe environment where they feel LOVED, SEEN AND APPRECIATED. Transgendered children are WELCOME here.
We provide mentorship connections, information and resources from within the greater Santa Cruz community to encourage your girl to be the healthiest a leader and active participant in her life, family and future.
We used research driven methodology and pedagogy, activities and philosophies to support your daughter’s unfoldment toward health and personal wellness.
*We stress personal responsibility, solution oriented thinking, integrity, compassion and forgiveness toward oneself and others.
*Come daily to a place where you are welcome to show up JUST AS YOU ARE
*FIND FRIENDSHIP, FUN AND LAUGHTER with girls your age.
*Discuss the things that are relevant and IMPORTANT to YOU and your life.
*Meet Women from the greater community who will INSPIRE you!
*Each day we dive deeply into exploring WHO we are, HOW we show up in the world and LEARN together how to make our DREAMS a reality.
*Through daily movement, yoga and superfoods cooking projects and learning skills and tools for emotional well being, we build a foundation for health and wellness that you can take into your life.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We do amazing things like have FACIAL PARTIES, making our own beautiful organic products.
We will HOOLA HOOP , DANCE, Learn ARCHERY SKILLS in the way of ARTEMIS, create art, and get SILLY!
Every day we have SPECIAL GUEST TEACHERS that come from all walks of life to share their STORIES and WISDOM. Learn how generations before you have learned to navigate the path to happiness and fulfillment in life…you would be surprised at how similar their struggles as a teen were!
They are SO excited to share their PRACTICES and TOOLS to live an authentic, rich life. The Artemis Project will connect you with everyone from Doctors to Musicians!
- Credentialed Educator, Education Consultant, Mother founding Director Kristen Rivers (Mama Artemis) will hold space for you and your questions about being a teen.
In a SAFE and INTELLIGENT (and age appropriate) way we will traverse subjects like:
Your physical development and sexual/ gender identity
Your relationship to your body: relationships to food, physical safety and wellness
Your relationship to the PLANET and the WORLD: growing up female in the 21st century
Friendships/ dating and personal relationships at home and at school
Creating Personal Boundaries and Communicating to be heard and understood
Your future, dreams and education
LAST YEAR we learned the difference between our SACRED YES and our NO through partner and group exercises. We made hoola hoops, we wrote songs, painted our faces, did yoga and danced every day, learned wise woman herbalism from a local master gardener, ate gorgeous organic foods we prepared each day, danced sacred tribal dances with snakes, shared deeply about the issues and challenges we faced in our lives among sisters who cared and professionals that provided insight and love.
We are an INCLUSIVE camp and welcome trans-gendering/ed children.
We try and accommodate all abilities, sexual orientations and mental health status. All content is AGE APPROPRIATE TO GROUP.
If you are interested or concerned about your child’s ability to attend, please contact the Director Kristen Rivers to discuss it.
PLEASE NOTE:*Programs are not intended to be therapy, nor substitute for psychiatric services. Enrollment may not be suitable for children with severe mental illness and under psychiatric care; for details and more information about this please contact Kristen.
